Under 16s

For Sidmouth U16s the 2012 – 13 season represents a huge challenge, not only are we facing league rugby for the first time but are determined to make this season our most successful ever.  To achieve this we are committed to enjoying our rugby both in matches and training as well as focussing on inclusion and player development.

We intend to improve core skills, in particular handling, tackling and fitness with emphasis on decision making and individual responsibility. However, the primary measure at the end of the season will simply be “Did we have Fun?”

Coaching & Management

In order to provide the players with the best training and playing environments  the support team has been increased for this season

Coaches: Josh Reed supported by Jack Sowden and Jay Wright

Co-ordinator: Penny Maskill

Managers: Jon Powell and John Hamill

The Coaches are committed to structured training sessions designed to develop the players’ skills and team strategies in an enjoyable and rewarding way. In addition we have been fortunate to have received promises of additional coaching sessions with RFU regional and Sidmouth senior coaches therefore we fully expect all players to be well prepared for Colts rugby at the end of the season.  Training usually takes place on Wednesday evening or Saturday morning with occasional sessions on the beach at Sidmouth                                                                                                                                                                                               The Management team will endeavour to support players and coaches alike by making the necessary arrangements for training and matches, liaising with other clubs and referees  and communicating clearly with all concerned.

New players are always welcome whether experienced or new to the game.
