Under 16s
The Sidmouth U16 squad consists of 26 players who attend college in Sidmouth, Honiton and Exmouth as well as Kings Ottery, Woodroffe, Colyton, Exeter and Blundell’s Schools.
Through the age groups the coaching has consistently focussed on enjoyment, inclusion and player development in terms of handling and fitness with an emphasis now on decision making and individual responsibility and a change in emphasis in favour of results in the competitive league and cup games.
The squad has been fortunate to have regular coaching sessions with RFU regional and national coaches and the permanent coaching team fully expect all the players to be well prepared for Colts and Senior rugby at the end of this season. With just two pre-Christmas defeats (Saracens and The Devon Presidents) the team is well placed in the league with plenty of tough looking rugby to come. The knock-out league and cup rounds, friendlies against Barnstaple, Bournemouth and Devon U15, together with two games in Dublin are sure to make for a busy 2012.
Training usually takes place on Wednesday evening or Saturday morning with occasional sessions on the beach at Sidmouth -
