Under 11s
With an absolute inclusivity policy EVERY player in our age group, who is a paid up member of Sidmouth RFC Juniors, and turns up wanting to play on a Sunday morning will get at Least half a game.
All players are coached in every aspect of our beautiful game. Any newcomers ( who are ALWAYS welcome ), will be given one on one attention to give them the very important basics, then invited to join in with the rest, who are constantly learning, so aren't newcomers for long!!
This season has introduced Second Rows and a Fullback.
The addition of 3 extra players on the pitch from last season has been great, as obviously, the more players on the pitch, reduces the replacements on the sideline.
Our two main buzz phrases of the season are Tower of Power and Ring of Steel, among others.These techniques have been highly beneficial, especially in the contact zone, scrummaging, rucking and mauling. These have been introduced to the coaches at training courses run by the RFU, but organised by Sidmouth RFC who are constantly trying to improve our already fantastic junior section.
Our main aims in the U11s are: Safety (above everything)
Fun (if we dont enjoy we dont/cant do our best)
Inclusivity (ALL play regardless of size, speed, strenghth, ability. Who knows how they will be in 4 years time)
Obviously Rugby (Laws etc Rugby is a game of strategy aswell as brute force, so there is something/somewhere for us ALL !)
