Ex Players Lunch 2008 (28/09/08)

The Annual Bingley Pullin Memorial Lunch for ex players will be held in the Clubhouse on Saturday 1st November before the Chiefs South West Two West league match against Yatton. The bar will be open at 12 noon for a 12.30pm sit down. The cost for a four course meal is £13.

As this year is the 30th and 35th anniversaries respectively of the 1978 Devon Senior Cup final against Exeter and the 1973 Havill Plate final win against Old Heleans it would be good to see that era well represented.

If you wish to attend what is always a most enjoyable occasion please contact Terry O'Brien via this website or telephone 01395 577403.

New signings at the Blackmore (01/09/08)

So far four new players have been signed on for the coming season.

Three players have made the move over the hill from Honiton. Nathan Hannay, who plays at number 8 or in the second row, has made a big impression both in training and the three warm up games played so far. His brother Jason brings a lot of experience and will provide strong competition for a place in the backrow. Stuart Salway is a hooker whose combative performance against Exmouth caught the eye of the selectors.

The fourth player is wingman Simeon Lewry. He is a Cornishmen and former Exeter University student. He scored a fine try against Crediton and shows both pace and strength.

Two prop forwards have also made contact with a view to joining the club. They are expected at training sometime in September.
